  • Abstract

  • English abstract
  • The Integrated Soil Fertility Management (IFSM) implemented in the 5 pilot sites helped to develop an agribusiness development approach that focuses on agricultural intensification processes and hinges on both institutional and technical innovation. It aims at improving access of farmers at the grassroots to inputs and information. These implemented actions during the 2 years contributed to the dissemination of ISFM-related information to farmers and their organizations, agricultural extension dealers, development agencies, policy makers and donors. These two years have been also used to provide a forum for exchange of information and of experiences related to sustainable agricultural intensification; produce and disseminate tools to identify opportunities for sustainable agricultural intensification at the regional level. This can help to facilitate the development of competitive agricultural systems and stimulate collaborative activities, involving facilitating institutions with different experiences and background.
