  • Abstract

  • Since the energy occupies a very important place in the development and the growth to all levels of the urban activity, one understands that the quasi-totality of the households of the cities uses some like a commodity of first necessity. The thermie is incorporated indeed in the satisfaction of innumerable needs of the life, just as banal that primordial. The survey had for objective to explain, in spite of the lack of clear and applicable sectorial politics, the spatial distribution and the facts of production and consumption of the wood-energy in Abidjan. The collection of the necessary quantitative and qualitative data to fear the mechanisms that contribute to the use of the wood-energy required two stages to know the exploitation of works already achieved (documentary research) and the works of land. To verify the hypotheses, numerous investigations proved to be necessary. The survey of the wood-energy requires the restoration of numerous interrelationships of variables of economic, sociological, ecological, psychological and others, simulating the probably situations. Taken into consideration the different evaluations, the cooking of food would have consumed in weight more coal than of wood of fire or LPG. All things considered, the coal of wood appears as the least economic fuel. However, it is the more used. To the acquirement of the wood-energy, the consumer searches for the quality of the commodity, because it influences deeply on the energizing consumption in the home. The producer, conscious of this fact, also searches for him the quality of his production through not only the technique of carbonization, but also and especially in the choice of the nature or the essence of wood. However, while observing the card of the production zones, one realizes that their localizations move away of their destination. That drives the inevitably prejudicial consequences on the consumption and the habits of the populations.
