  • La faiblesse, d'une part et l'irrégularité, d'autre part, de la pluviométrie des zones désertiques du Mali,(régions de Gao, de Tombouctou et de Kidal qui recueillent 250 mm en moyenne) font que la culture des céréales y est incertaine.   • Low and irregular rainfall in dry areas in Mali, particularly in the regions of Gao, Timbuktu and Kidal (250 mm in average), make cereal crops uncertain. The developpment of the potato culture should allow not only to help improve the nutrition of populations of those regions, but also to prevent food shortage.
