- Abstract
- La crise cotonnière a amené les producteurs centrafricains d’adopter diverses stratégies d’adaptation. L’analyse en termes de multifonctionnalité permet de vérifier que les exploitations agricoles à stratégies multifonctionnelles, face à la crise, ont une meilleure performance économique. Par cette étude, nous essayons de contribuer aux recherches sur les problématiques de la performance économique et de la contribution des stratégies des exploitations à la multifonctionnalité de l’agriculture. L’approche théorique est celle de la MFA et de l’analyse globale des exploitations agricoles. La question est abordée par des enquêtes directes des producteurs et recherches bibliographiques. Les résultats montrent que les stratégies adoptées permettent aux exploitations de contribuer à la MFA centrafricaine, par les fonctions marchandes, environnementales, et de viabilité sociales en zone rurale. L’analyse de la productivité des facteurs révèle les bonnes performances économiques de ces exploitations. Des propositions de recherche et d’actions publiques en vue d’appuyer et améliorer les stratégies de ces exploitations ont été faites.

- The cotton crisis in the Central African Republic brought the farms to adopt various adapted strategies. The analysis in terms of multifunctionality permits to verify that the farms with multifunctional strategies have a better economic performance face to the cotton crisis. Through this study, we try to contribute to research on the problematic of the economic performance and the contribution of the strategies of the family farms to the multifunctionality of the agriculture in the Central African Republic. The theoretical framework is based on the approach of the multifunctionality of agriculture and the global analysis of the family farm. The question was approached by direct survey of the producers and bibliographic research. The results show that the adopted strategies allow the farms to contribute to the MFA of the CAR, while assuring the functions of economics merchant productions, the non merchant environmental functions, and the function of maintaining the social viability in rural areas. The analysis of the productivity of the production factors reveals the good economic performances of the farms. Propositions of research and public actions to undertake in view to sustain and to improve the strategies developed by the farms are made.
