- Abstract

- English abstract
- The Soya is an important crop for the nutritional security. Its production is increasing in North-East Benin. However, there is few scientific information on it in this area. To beacon the field for future researches, this paper aims atcharacterizing the soya farmers in that area of Benin as per their education. A Factorial Analysis of Multiple Correspondences (FAMC)of the data collected from 288 soya farmers in the area was done. Logistic regressions were also specified and estimated. Results point out that there are three education groups of soya farmers in the North-East Benin: those with Academic Diplomas but without training on soya farming technics (DANFT) (17%), those Non-Instructed and non-trained on soya farming technics (NINFT) (67%) and those Instructed but without academic Diploma, alphabetized and trained on soya farming technics (INDAFT) (16%). The membership of a soya farmer to any one of these groups is determined by several variables. The instructed farmers tended to instruct theirs kids (DANFT and INDAFT). Those without instruction tended to not instruct their kids (NINFT). The contact with extension services facilitated the training on the soya production technics (INDAFT). These results suggest that for a good mastering of the technics of soya production in the research area, the extension services should suitably cover it.
